Ife Michelle Dance is a North Carolina based brand that offers workshops, performances, and classes to those that have a passion and aptitude for dance- no matter your physicality. IMD strives to create inclusivity in the world of dance; dismantilling limited perceptions of what dancers are and look like. Whether it be finding your sexy at a sigature "Nightcap Friday", letting go in one of the infamous IMD Hip-Hop workshops, or even being inspired by the fiereness of Ife Michelle Dance Co.: IMD believes with technique and passion, dance can be 'for' all bodies.

MEET THE DANCERS OF IFE MICHELLE DANCE:

Ashlee

 

Ashlee Brannon has been dancing since she could walk. She states dance will forever be a passion of hers, Ashlee’s 15+ yrs of competitive dance has helped shaped her foundation. Hip-Hop and Heels are her new favorite styles of dance, she is currently training in different styles to help broaden her horizons. 

My current motto: “Always dance as if nobody is watching.”

Tanisha

Tanisha Wrather is a free-spirited mother of one and a self-proclaimed dancer. With childhood background in ballet and tap as well as a brief stint with hip-hop and break dance styles in early adulthood, she is open to, and enjoys learning new styles. New to Charlotte, she really feels that she found her way through the art of dance; making new friends, staying fit and living her best life!

Kiesha

Kiesha “Marie” Jennings started out dancing at the age of 19 years old peaking her interest of dance by teaching herself from YouTube Hiphop videos. From there she expanded her knowledge of the dance world thru her time at Fayetteville State University where she honed and trained her talent and skills under the direction of Avis Hatcher-Puzzo and the underground scene of street dance in Fayetteville. The few years she spent in Fayetteville, Kiesha has been able to explore a multitude styles of dance and performance opportunities while developing and crafting her own. She continues and hopes to inspire movement and the freedom of creative expression by continuing to train and offering community services in communities who otherwise wouldn’t be able to experience the joy of dance and other arts.

Alana

K. Alana is originally from Huntsville, Alabama by way of Columbia, SC. Involved in the arts from a young age. She began Majorette style and hip hop dancing in late 90’s where she attended South Carolina State University. From there Alana began liturgical dance. She has choreographed for several high school dance teams and flag lines in SC. After moving to Charlotte she laid her dancing shoes down until visiting an Ife Michelle dance class where her love was restored. Always a willing student she is grateful for every class, rehearsal and experience with Ife Michelle Dance team...”they keep me young and on my toes!”

Her motto: “The hardest decision in life is deciding which bridges to burn and which to cross.”

Noelle

Noelle Arjé hails from Charleston, SC, with her formal dance instruction starting at age 4 and continuing through college where she graduared with a minor in Dance from Fayetteville State University. Noelle says, "Dance is where I find my spiritual connection, where I find my physical strength, and when I am most happy. That’s why I dance because no matter the situation. I can always leave it on the dance floor, and feel the weight of the world lifting." Noelle plans to continue to learn from dance and improve her craft so that she can teach dance to others.

Khrysten

 

Khrysten Guinyard is a graduate from Johnson C Smith University with her Bachelors Degree in Dance. While attending college she was apart of two dance companies The Wanda Project and The JCSU Repertory Dance Company. She has been dancing since she was 6 years old, starting in church doing praise and liturgical dance. She was then a competitive dancer at Precision Dance Center and B.B Dance Production until she graduate high-school, training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, liturgical, and tap. Khrysten is a member of 4thirty-two a plus size dance group and a licensed Zumba instructor, in addition to teaching at F2 Liturgical Dance, iDance Performing Arts Company and is the Dance Coach for David Cox Rd. Elementary Dynamite Dolphin Dance Team.
